End-to-end autonomous fault management across multiple domains
The Concept
This Innovation Hub Pioneer Project presents a comprehensive fault management solution piloted at China Mobile, which identifies and resolves base station out of service caused by power/environment, wireless, and transmission domains failures. The solution integrates Agentic single-domain autonomy and cross-domain orchestration to unify multiple domains. It significantly reduces Mean Time to Repair (MTTR), minimizes field maintenance engineering site visits, and ultimately enhances customer experience (QoE).
Scope & key activities
The scope of the project includes:
- Create a Canvas environment that enables a full fault management solution to be developed, leveraging prior Catalyst work and Member capabilities.
- Identify Members’ components/applications to manage a customer’s fault management requirements/business operations from an intent-based perspective.
- Include the capability requirements for Network fault management to AN L4.
Objectives & outcomes
The objectives are to build a working demonstration of a full fault management capability across as many network technologies as possible. If time permits, this will include fault management across IT services.
The expected outcomes are:
- A set of reusable processes, components and Open APIs to demonstrate how we can manage faults across multiple network technologies/domains.
