ODA Accelerator
The Concept
ODA Accelerator
Accelerating the AI-Native ODA Canvas
The ODA Accelerator develops and validates the ODA Canvas — TM Forum’s open reference implementation environment for deploying, integrating and operating ODA-compliant components, AI agents and digital platform capabilities.
The project provides a shared runtime where members collaboratively develop, test and demonstrate interoperable implementations of Open Digital Architecture (ODA), enabling faster adoption of industry standards and reducing integration complexity across CSP environments.
The ODA Canvas is evolving beyond component deployment into a platform for:
- AI-native service composition
- Agent-to-Agent (A2A) collaboration
- Model Context Protocol (MCP) integration
- Event-driven architectures
- Autonomous operations
- Secure runtime governance
- Sustainable infrastructure management
Value
The ODA Accelerator delivers value by:
- Providing a shared environment for implementation and validation
- Supporting interoperability across ODA-aligned solutions
- Enabling experimentation with emerging implementation patterns
Accelerating adoption of TM Forum standards
By validating implementation approaches in a collaborative environment, members can gain practical experience and contribute to the evolution of ODA reference implementations.
Progress to date
- The ODA Canvas continues to evolve through collaborative development and validation activities led by members of the ODA Accelerator project.
- Recent work has focused on strengthening the core runtime capabilities of the Canvas, including enhancements to component dependency management, service discovery and lifecycle automation. Members have also progressed work on the Component Registry and Canvas Portal, improving visibility, deployment management and operational understanding of Canvas-based environments.
- The project has expanded its support for secure and interoperable deployments through integration of identity and access management capabilities, enabling more robust approaches to authentication, authorization and policy enforcement
- In parallel, members are exploring emerging implementation patterns that support the evolution of ODA. This includes experimentation with AI gateway capabilities, integration approaches for Model Context Protocol (MCP) services, and mechanisms for connecting agent-based services within standards-aligned architectures
- Additional activities have investigated event-driven integration patterns, enhanced observability across runtime components and approaches for sustainable operations through carbon-aware workload management.
These developments are being validated through collaborative demonstrations and reference implementations, helping members assess practical adoption approaches and identify future areas for standardisation and industry collaboration.
