End-to-end 5G dynamic slice management
The Concept
This Innovation Hub Pioneer Project is working on how to manage dynamic 5G slices end-to-end from the customer to the network. This is part of a wider objective to redesign AI-enabled systems and processes for the end-to-end management of the IT and network elements of an autonomous network.
Scope & key activities
The scope of the project is:
- End to end dynamic slice lifecycle management: Define and validate standardized capabilities for the on demand creation, modification, assurance, and termination of 5G network slices across RAN, transport, and core domains, aligned with TM Forum ODA and Open APIs.
- Closed loop assurance & intelligent operations: Enable real time slice monitoring, performance assurance, SLA validation, and automated corrective actions using analytics and policy driven control to ensure service quality for diverse enterprise and industry use cases.
- Industry-ready standards, APIs, and demonstrations: Deliver TM Forum aligned reference architectures, Open API mappings, and interoperable use case demonstrations that support cross vendor adoption and accelerate commercialization of dynamic network slicing.
Use case and outcomes
The objectives and outcomes include:
- Demonstrate industry grade dynamic slicing at DTW Ignite 2026: Deliver live, end to end industry use case demonstrations showcasing how dynamic 5G network slicing can be instantiated, adapted, and assured in real time to meet differentiated enterprise service needs.
- Validate TM Forum standards through real implementations: Prove the applicability of TM Forum Open APIs and ODA-aligned architectures by mapping them to concrete slicing scenarios, enabling interoperable, multi-vendor execution across the slice lifecycle.
